El Mirador del Punta Canfali, or the Balcony of the Mediterranean, is one of the most beloved viewpoints in Benidorm – especially from the late afternoon hours until sunset.⁠ ⁠ The pentagonal viewpoint is located on a cliff that juts out into the sea. Access is via a staircase from a balustrade where the city’s old medieval castle once stood.⁠ ⁠ The viewpoint separates Benidorm’s two beaches, Levante and Poniente, and offers stunning views of both beaches, the skyscrapers behind them, and the sea.⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🇩🇰 Punta Canfali eller Middelhavets balkon er et af de mest elskede udsigtspunkter i Benidorm - især fra de sene eftermiddagstimer til solnedgang. ⁠ ⁠ Det femkantede udsigtspunkt er placeret på en klippe, der stikker ud i havet. Have you strolled through Bilbao’s Notting Hill? ⁠ ⁠ As you walk through the streets of Kirikiño, Zuberoa, and Baiona in the Iralabarri neighborhood of Bilbao, you’ll be greeted by a series of picturesque, colorful houses. Not without reason, these streets have earned the nickname Bilbao’s Notting Hill.⁠ ⁠ The houses were built around 1916 and were inspired by English garden cities but with a Basque twist. They consist of both detached and terraced houses and have their own courtyards and gardens.⁠ ⁠ Behind the construction was Juan José Irala, who owned the legendary bakery Harino-Panadera and a flour mill. The houses became a haven for his workers to live in. The bakery has long since closed, but it is said that when it existed, the whole neighborhood smelled of freshly baked bread.⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🇩🇰 Har du slentret gennem Bilbao’s Notting Hill?⁠ ⁠ Når du går gennem gaderne Kirikiño, Zuberoa og Baiona, i kvarteret Iralabarri i Bilbao bliver du mødt af en række maleriske, farvestrålende huse. Are you a fan of cycling? And do you watch the Vuelta a España? 🚵‍♀️ 🇪🇸⁠ ⁠ Then you might know the Lakes of Covadonga. Along the road towards and around the lakes, you can spot the names of professional cyclists written in yellow in several places. The area with the lakes is part of the route in the Vuelta a España, so it’s also visited by many cycling fans.⁠ ⁠ If you enjoy hiking, there are numerous trails in the Picos de Europa. The circular route around the Lakes of Covadonga, which can be completed by the whole family, consists of a short (3 kilometers) and a long (5 kilometers) trail. Do you like modern art? 🖌️ Valencia’s newest art center, Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero, opened in November 2023 and is worth a visit.  The museum is located in a beautifully renovated 17th-century palace, which once housed a Jewish butcher family, a national newspaper, and a nightclub. The art center holds a private collection of 100 works by 50 renowned international artists from the 20th century, including David Hockney, Anselm Kiefer, Anish Kapoor, George Baselitz, Mat Collishaw, Tony Cragg, Joan Miró, and Olafur Eliasson. Perhaps you have already come across the museum, as their most Instagrammed work is “Tunnel for Unfolding Time” by Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson (video 1). 🇩🇰 Kan du lide moderne kunst? 🖌️ Valencias nyeste kunstcenter Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero åbnede i november 2023 og er et besøg værd.
