Start your morning with a healthy smoothie that provides both energy and nutrition. Here are recipes for three Spanish smoothies with apples, oatmeal, pomegranate and celery, among others.
Start your day well and healthy by treating your body to one of these delicious, healthy smoothies. All three flavors are easy to make and contain ingredients that are nutritious and easy to get from greengrocers or supermarkets.
I was served the three smoothies at the Mercure Hotel in Benidorm, Spain and I loved the taste of all of them. The recipes were developed by the hotel’s waiters and are also served to hotel guests.
Recipe for 3 healthy smoothies from Spain
What all three smoothies have in common is that you simply blend all the ingredients together in your blender. You can also use a hand blender.
1 Green apple and oatmeal smoothie
This smoothie is a great way to start your morning. Not only do you get to enjoy the nutrients in the fruit and oats. The oats also give you a great energy boost.
Apples are low in calories and are a good source of fiber and are packed with vitamins A and C.
Oatmeal helps keep blood sugar levels stable. It contains vitamins B6, E and B5 and the minerals potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium.
You need:
1 green apple
3 tablespoons oatmeal
1 glass of milk – you can use almond or oat drink or conventional milk
1 pinch of cinnamon
Smoothies made with oatmeal will always be slightly thicker than others. You can add a little water if you find it too thick. Alternatively, you can eat it with a spoon.
2 Smoothie with pomegranate juice
Pomegranate is high in fiber, so it can be perfect for activating digestion as long as you don’t drink more than one smoothie a day.
You need:
1 pomegranate
2 slices of pineapple
1 glass of water (25 cl)
3 Detox smoothie with celery leaves
This smoothie is especially refreshing and good when it’s hot. Cucumber contains water and essential nutrients that hydrate and cleanse the body. Celery is a source of phytonutrients and vitamin C and folate, one of the B vitamins.
You need:
2 yellow apples
2 celery sticks
70 grams of cucumber
1 tablespoon of honey
3.5 dl water
